UGANDA, Naalya | Real Muloodi News | Metroplex Shopping Mall is a world-class, double-level shopping centre in a convenient location. After selling to Mauritius-based Gateway Delta in 2019, an inflow of US$20 million in investment helped redevelop the Metroplex Mall.
Metroplex, a 13,000 square meter shopping mall, provides approximately 400 and 1000 direct and indirect jobs, respectively. They have offered over 2,000 jobs with 800 during the construction phase.
The shopping centre has drawn retailers such as Carrefour, a French supermarket chain that has recently expanded into Uganda, taking up space previously occupied by collapsed Shoprite.
Carrefour supermarket is estimated to be 3,400 square meters in size at the Metroplex Mall. It is not the only one, as brands such as Pep, Woolworth, Cinemax and Bata have made the shopping mall their address.
The shopping mall hopes to attract additional investments from both local and international retailers.
The shopping mall’s environment is designed for active and vibrant urban clients with its modern and energetic retail space, which includes a central atrium with coffee shops and a promotion court.
Location Description
The Metroplex Shopping Mall is in the Naalya neighbourhood, a suburb where you can find the town socialites hanging out. It is a 10-minute drive off the Northern Bypass.
The mall is a shopping, dining, and entertainment hub in Kampala, close to Naalya Housing Estate. The newly constructed road from Kyaliwajjala to Naalya has improved access to it.
Kadic Hospital is located 312 kilometres southwest of the mall, which is also surrounded by Tier 2 suburbs like Kyaliwajjala, Kigowa, Najjera, Ntinda, and Kiwatule.
Naalya is a township in the Kira Municipality neighbourhood in Kyaddondo County, Wakiso District. The mall is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday, including public holidays.
