UGANDA, Mpigi | Real Muloodi News | The Anti-Corruption Unit of State House, in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force, arrested four suspects for allegedly occupying prime land illegally in Mpigi District.
The suspects were taken into custody and arraigned before the Chief Magistrates Court in Mpigi on charges of forcible detainer.
They are accused of unlawfully occupying 56 acres of Mpigi prime land owned by Lubega Charles Lwanga.
According to the Anti-Corruption Unit, the suspects forged documents to take possession of the land.
They allegedly deployed private security guards to secure the property, which Lubega Charles Lwanga had lawfully purchased from the rightful owners.
“Working with Criminal Investigations Directorate-UPF, we have arraigned four suspects before the Chief Magistrates Court, Mpigi on charges of Forcible Detainer after they forcefully took possession of land belonging to Lubega Charles Lwanga,” the unit stated.
The Anti-Corruption Unit said the suspects had been remanded until May 8, 2024.
