I&M Bank Relocates Head Office to Kingdom Kampala Building

UGANDA, Kampala | Real Muloodi NewsI&M Bank Uganda has moved its head office to the Kingdom Kampala Mall located on plots 13A-35A, and 37A-39A on Nile Avenue.

The bank stated that the new location would serve as an Executive Office and house Corporate banking products and channels, Treasury, Credit, Legal, Marketing, Corporate Communication and Compliance.

The move aims to improve customer service and accessibility for the bank’s clientele.

“Dear customers, this is to inform you that to serve better, we have relocated our head office to Kingdom Kampala Mall located on plot 13A-35A, 37A-39A on Nile Avenue, Kampala effective Tuesday May 2, 2023” reads an internal circular to clients.

I&M Holdings Plc, a regional banking and financial services group, has a presence in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mauritius, and Uganda.

Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange with a market capitalisation of KES 37.5 billion, it is regulated by the Capital Markets Authority as well as by the Central Bank of Kenya as a non-operating holding company.

In July 2020, I&M Holdings signed an agreement to acquire a 90% shareholding of Orient Bank Limited (OBL) from 8 Miles and other sellers, including the founders.

The acquisition was completed on April 30th, 2021, after receiving necessary approvals from the Central Bank of Kenya, the Bank of Uganda, the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya and the COMESA Competition Authority.

With the acquisition, I&M Group has added net loan assets valued at approximately USh262 billion, deposits at USh606 billion, a customer base of 68,787, a staff component of 340 employees and a network of 14 branches and 22 ATMs across Uganda.

The group has developed a clear plan for the integration of Orient Bank into its operations and expects to gain considerable business and operational synergies.

Kingdom Kampala Building

The Kingdom Kampala building is owned by real muloodi tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia. It is a modern mixed-use complex that houses several offices, shops, and residential apartments.

I&M Bank’s relocation to this building is expected to increase the visibility of the bank’s brand and enhance its reputation as a premier financial institution in Uganda.
