Magnum Security Personnel Arraigned for Forcible Entry on Property

UGANDA, Kampala | Real Muloodi NewsOn Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2024, 11 personnel affiliated with Magnum Security appeared before the KCCA Chief Magistrates Court facing charges of forcible entry on property.

The accused individuals were apprehended by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) on the evening of Monday, March 11, 2024, following their involvement in an unauthorised operation to evict and guard a disputed property on Plot 106, Old Kira Road, Ntinda.

The accused personnel, associated with Magnum Security, unlawfully took possession of the land belonging to the late Eng. Eliba Johnson in a violent manner, despite the existence of a temporary injunction on the property.

Consequently, they have been remanded until March 20, 2024, pending further legal proceedings.

This latest incident is not an isolated one concerning the property formerly owned by the late Eng. Johnson Eliba Orech.

On December 26, 2022, the family home situated on the same land was demolished without a court order, following a similar attack orchestrated by individuals acting on the directives of Yusuf Semakula.

Subsequently, an investigation conducted by the SHACU revealed that the Eliba family should retain occupation of the property until the conclusion of ongoing court cases regarding its ownership.

The Court of Appeal issued an interim injunction to this effect on December 23, 2023, affirming the family’s right to the property pending legal resolution.

However, in defiance of the injunction, Yusuf Semakula instigated a second eviction of the family from the premises on March 1, 2024, and enlisted the services of Magnum Security personnel. This egregious act prompted swift action by the SHACU, leading to the arrest and subsequent arraignment of the accused individuals before the KCCA Chief Magistrates Court.

The Magnum Security personnel will remain remanded until March 20, 2024, as legal proceedings continue to unfold regarding the disputed property and the alleged forcible entry conducted by the accused individuals.
