UGANDA, Wakiso | Real Muloodi News | A mother and her 23-year-old son have been remanded to Luzira Prison on allegations of forging a Will to acquire property and land.
Margaret Nabakooza, a resident of Kira Municipality in Wakiso District, and her son David Mutyaba, a student at Cavendish University, appeared in court to face charges of forging a Will through conspiracy with advocate Alice Nabakooza Nyombi to forge powers of attorney for Harriet Naboosa Joyce Kiwanuka.
The state alleges that the forged powers of attorney were granted to Mutyaba. The mother-son pair are also accused of presenting the forged Will and powers of attorney, dated October 29, 2020, to Kisubi Micheal Steven.
The duo faces additional charges related to intermeddling with the estate of the late Harriet Nabbosa. This estate includes properties in Kyukyumu, Kaliti, Senge, Nakulabye, and Najeera.
Nabakooza and Mutyaba denied the charges against them. However, due to the absence of state prosecutors who are attending an annual symposium, the two were remanded to prison until April 30, 2024, when they will reappear in court for a possible bail application.
The court issued a criminal summons against the accused advocate, Alice Nabakooza, for failing to appear in court.
