UGANDA, Wakiso | Real Muloodi NewsThe Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) announced the initiation of physical works on the Kisubi-Nakawuka-Nateete-Nakawuka-Kasanje-Mpigi-Nakawuka-Mawagulu-Nanziga-Maya-Kasanje-Buwaya and Entebbe-Nakiwogo road project. This Nakawuka Road construction aims to upgrade a total of 72.5 kilometres of road network in Wakiso District.

The Nakawuka Road serves as a vital transportation link between Kampala, Uganda’s capital, and the neighbouring districts of Wakiso and Mpigi.

Over the years, the road has deteriorated, leading to significant congestion, delays, and accidents. The upgrade is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce travel times, and enhance safety for commuters and traders.

UNRA has contracted China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) to undertake the Nakawuka Road construction.

The initial phase of the project involves bush clearing along the Kisubi-Nakawuka road section. This upgrade is projected to be completed by 2027, with a budget of USh340.5 billion, financed by the Government of Uganda.

The Nakawuka Road construction is expected to have a profound impact on the local economy and the social well-being of nearby communities.

Improved road conditions will facilitate better access to markets, healthcare, and education facilities, thereby enhancing the quality of life for residents and commuters.

UNRA spokesperson, Mark Ssali, commented on the project: “The commencement of physical works on this road is a significant milestone in our efforts to modernise Uganda’s road infrastructure. The benefits to the local economy and community well-being are substantial.”

The Nakawuka Road construction is part of a broader initiative to upgrade Uganda’s road network.

The completion of this road network will also support increased real estate development in the region, making it more accessible and attractive for potential investors and residents.

Real estate experts anticipate that the improved Nakawuka Road will lead to a rise in property values and stimulate new investments in residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

The enhanced infrastructure will make it easier for businesses to operate, reduce transportation costs, and attract new ventures to the area.

“The Nakawuka Road construction is not just a transportation project; it’s a catalyst for economic growth,” noted real estate analyst Jane Nabukeera. “We expect to see a significant boost in property development and investment in the surrounding areas.”

In addition to economic benefits, the Nakawuka Road construction is also anticipated to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.

The new road design will include features aimed at reducing accidents and enhancing overall traffic management.

UNRA’s detailed project plan outlines several key improvements, including widening the road, installing proper drainage systems, and adding pedestrian walkways.

These enhancements are intended to create a safer and more efficient transportation corridor.

As the Nakawuka Road construction progresses, ongoing updates and community engagement will be crucial.

UNRA has committed to maintaining open lines of communication with residents and stakeholders to ensure that the project meets their needs and addresses any concerns.

Local community leader, John Mukasa, expressed optimism about the project: “This road upgrade is long overdue. It will bring much-needed development to our area and make our daily commutes safer and more efficient.”

The Nakawuka Road construction is a major step forward in Uganda’s infrastructure development.

The project’s successful completion will mark a significant achievement in improving the nation’s road network and supporting its economic growth.

For more updates on the Nakawuka Road construction and its impact on the region, stakeholders are encouraged to follow UNRA’s announcements and community meetings.
