UGANDA, Wakiso | Real Muloodi News | The Anti Corruption Unit – State House Uganda in collaboration with the CID Uganda arrested a group of individuals allegedly involved in a land-grabbing incident on April 6, 2024. They were taken into custody and paraded in front of the court in Wakiso. The suspects were charged with forcible entry and malicious property damage.
The eight suspects include Nabwami Edith, Kakule David, Nathan Junju Kato, Nakimbugwe Margaret, Musisi Fredrick Kantu, Semakadde Stephen, Ndawula Arafat, and Seruyange Siraji.
They, along with others who are still at large, are accused of forcefully entering, grading, and subdividing a five-acre piece of land in Muyomba Village, Busiro County, Wakiso District.
The land in question reportedly belongs to Kityo Henry.
According to the police, the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to track down additional individuals involved in the alleged land-grabbing activities.
“The suspects’ actions demonstrate the ongoing challenge of land-related crimes in the region, and we are committed to pursuing justice in this matter,” a law enforcement official said.
The charges against the suspects stem from their reported actions on the property, which included unlawfully entering the land and causing damage by grading and subdividing it without the owner’s permission.
The suspects have been remanded until May 8, 2024 when their case will be heard in Wakiso Court.
