UGANDA, Wakiso | Real Muloodi News | This trendy, mid-sized two-story family home featuring an S-shaped glass facade is another design masterpiece by Ugandan firms Aivory Architects and Grey Oak Limited.
The hilltop residence, designed for a family of five in Busabala, enjoys an unobstructed view of Lake Victoria. To maximise the views, the home features a unique S-shaped glass facade, a stark departure from every day designs. This ingenious sculptured design provides an abundance of natural light, while enhancing the promenade of its vast hilltop setting.
The large expanses of glass have minimised the walling in the facade. The pool-side home features a marble, plaster and stainless steel exterior design, with a metal roof and open-plan living spaces.
The kitchen is the heart of the house, leading to a large patio that gives unobstructed views of the infinity pool, and re-naturalized ravine landscaping.
In order to meld with the clean lines of this contemporary residence, the lights are detailed to showcase the flow of each step at night. This hidden lighting detail was the perfect complement to the cascading hardscape.
