You may not have the means to raise a lot of money for a huge bungalow. And you may not have a need for such a big house. All you may need could be a little space just for you, or for you, and your spouse and a child.
Through First Village Technical and Construction company, there is a plan if your dream is to own property at an affordable rate.
According to the company’s Director, Engineer Abdul Mawejje, with USh 20 million, his company can construct a single bedroom self-contained house.
Engineer Mawejje says a USh 20 million house contains one-bedroom with a kitchen, bathroom, a toilet and a designed compound. This amount excludes land.
“The Shs20m will cater for everything, including labor and material. All one has to do is sit and wait for us to hand over a fully completed house,” Engineer Mawejje says.
Mawejje said the whole construction might take at least four weeks if the money is available at once. His company is also open to instalments payments. However, this would affect the construction period, and inevitably the cost.
“It could also raise the cost because of purchase of products in installments is naturally costly in the building industry. Changes in market prices occur when you delay committing yourself,” Engineer Mawejje says.
The engineer advises it would be easier if you prepare accordingly.
According to Mawejje, First Village Technical and Construction Company also provides a quotation for accountability reasons. Mawejje also maintained that the company could build the house in any location in Uganda.
However, the location could be subject to changes in costs depending on factors present, such as market rates in the area, the land terrain, topography, and distance, among other factors.
First Village Technical and Construction Company has already developed a ground plan. However, they say that anyone who wants to build a different house may present a plan for their home and receive a quotation.
“This one has one bedroom, and it is opposite the bathroom on the floor plan. But we can also quote for someone who has an original plan,” Engineer Mawejje said.
