UGANDA, Kampala | Real Muloodi News | Livingstone Mukasa, Chief Development Officer, Bitbricks Limited and real estate expert, emphasises the significance of investing in real estate even with a limited amount of investment money.

Mukasa points to Uganda’s Ministry of Finance’s High Growth Conference in 2018, where economic experts discussed the country’s growth and investment patterns.

He says that the IMF’s Country Director presented research findings showing that 70% of Ugandans’ disposable income is invested in brick-and-mortar investments, including homes and commercial buildings. This figure is much higher than the global average of 40%.

Mukasa notes that real estate is often chosen as a store of value and a hedge against inflation. Investing in real estate provides a safer option for wealth storage compared to holding large sums in banks or other financial instruments, which may lead to unwanted attention from bankers and regulators.

Mukasa suggests that as Uganda’s population grows and wealth accumulates, there will be increased demand for real estate. This demand is expected to lead to significant growth in real estate prices, particularly in the housing market.

He adds that real estate is a generational asset that many aspire to leave as a legacy for their children.

According to Mukasa, the challenge for potential investors is not necessarily a lack of funds but rather the desire to invest in properties they cannot afford.

He advises potential investors to adjust their expectations and consider investing in areas within their financial reach.

Mukasa’s insights highlight the importance of real estate as a viable option for investing even with limited investment money.

With a focus on long-term growth and security, real estate remains a crucial asset class for Ugandans looking to protect and grow their wealth.
