UGANDA, Mubende | Real Muloodi News | Mubende district is one of many districts where the government is constructing industrial hubs and business parks through the Uganda Investment Authority. The government has delivered on its commitment, and residents are excited as the Mubende Industrial Hub nears completion.
The construction of the industrial hub began in 2019, and will be launched in October 2021 by President Museveni.
Government leaders expect the industrial hub in Mubende District to be a job generator and create opportunities to help people gain employable skills.
The hub sits on a 52-acre plot of land donated by the district in Kibuye-Vuga Village, Kitenga Sub County.
According to Mubende Youth chairperson, Mr Focus Ssewanyana, “We are happy that such a big skilling project is being hosted in our district. Skills in catering, bakery, weaving, tailoring, carpentry, welding, shoe making, stone cutting and ceramics are going to be provided, which will enable the youth to directly participate in the cash economy,” as he shared his excitement towards the industrial hub.
He added, “Youth who cannot seize this opportunity to gain hands-on skills will have themselves to blame and not anyone else. Opportunities have come and people ignore them. This time, if we don’t use this chance and get skills, we should blame nobody else, but ourselves.”
