UGANDA, Kampala | Real Muloodi News | Celebrated politician Fred Mukasa Mbidde tied the knot with his fiancé Phiona Nayebare on Friday, April 28. The wedding ceremony was held at the Uganda Marty’s Basilica in Munyonyo, Kampala, and was attended by the couple’s family, close friends, coworkers, and other important individuals and muloodis.
After exchanging their vows, the newlyweds hosted an extravagant reception at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa. The multi-million reception was filled with delectable food and beverages for their high-profile guests to indulge in.
Prior to the wedding, Mbidde held an inaugural wedding meeting on March 10 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel’s Victoria Ballroom. During the meeting, he announced a team of individuals who would help him make the wedding a success. Among the team was renowned businessman and real estate mogul Godfrey Kirumira, who was appointed as the chairman. Mbidde’s daughter, Susan Nava, was also a member of the committee and worked tirelessly to ensure that the wedding was a success.
In December 2019, Mbidde was introduced to Nayebare’s family in a customary Gusaba ceremony. As per tradition, he was required to bring 20 cows and pay a bride price of sh10m.
Mbidde’s first wife, Bukomansimbi Woman MP Susan Namaganda, tragically passed away in a road accident on the Kampala-Masaka highway in 2015. Despite the loss, Mbidde has found love again and started a new chapter in his life with Nayebare.
